What it means to Be Black

  • I am changing the narrative of what it means to be Black. Being Black is not about your skin color or your so-called race. Being Black is about your mindset and your beliefs as reflected by your behaviour, actions and words. Being Black is a self-identification. So here are my 10 beliefs for Being Black: - To lead an honorable life. - To be proud of your Black heritage and to carry on Black traditions. - To feel an immediate bond with fellow Blacks. - To involve yourself in a community of Blacks. - To feel a Black identity. - To feel a special connection to Black nohistory. - To take great pride in Africa. - To place an emphasis on education. - To feel empathy for the poor, oppressed, and downtrodden. - To see the world through the prism of all the above. Tell me what you think.
