Rwanda built a solar power plant on a 17-hectare field with 28,000 panels at a cost of $23.7 million in 2014.

It created 350 jobs, increased Rwanda's electricity production by 6% and provides energy to 15,000 homes.

It took only 6 months to complete, a record in Africa.
