Friday, February 9, 2018, 'The dunk heard around Baltimore!' Let me set the stage! The nationally known Dunbar HS of East Bmore, hosted Baltimore Polytechnic Institue of West bmore on a Friday night, standing room only situation! Dunbar was 18-0 at the time, Poly is 18-0, and ranked nationally (ESPN top 25). Poly trailed most of the game by 10 points and came back to win by 4, 65-61! It was a heated, intense contest! This play was the culmination of a 2-play stretch where Poly got 2 straight dunks, which started the run to overtake the lead. This 2nd dunk was an and-1, that literally stopped the game! The significance of this game was Poly is NOT suppose to be a so-called basketball power in Baltimore, because these kids are all high academic, STEM, student athletes. This particular year, these kids are not only smart, but tough as shit, with no fear! This photo caught the play!
