Malcolm X
1
He asked who told y’all
To hate yourself…
It’s a simple question….
To hate your skin
To hate your nose
To hate your crown…
He was just askin
Black people
Humbly….
I wanna know
Who told us, too
2
This black man is being
Racist…he said the white man is
The devil…well
Is he lyin?
The white man on the plane
Said that we as black people
need to hate ourselves to the fullest….
But then a black man came around
From Nation of Islam,
He said no my people is not goin to
Hate themselves
They’re goin to love them….
He said we’re beautiful….
3
Made a lot of
Points to what
A black man was sayin
And he was leadin
His people to the path
He said we have the right
To defend ourselves
And we shouldn’t fall
For false victories….

X,
Malcolm
X….
He was a great man
That’s the reason
Why white folks are too
Afraid of him….
His aura his masculinity
Was too powerful….
And
It’s no wonder
Public schools wouldn’t
Allow the study of Malcolm x
In the curriculum
Cos they’re afraid of black boys
And black girls who would think
Like him, they’re afraid to witness
These beautiful black children
Can change the world….with all
The Malcolm x influence…
5
Again
Malcolm X asked who told you hate yourself?
Who told you?
Well your ancestors were slaves
And the slaves told them they’re ugly….
They’re worthless
Constant verbal abuse
Even show them with beatings and rapes…
This type of trauma
Has been passed down to generations
And now we carry the tradition of self hate
That turned into our burden….
Yet Malcolm X
Came along and said
To black people’s faces
You are beautiful
He knew that…
Well look in the mirror
Ask yourself
Who are you
Who told you to hate yourself?
