Today is her birthday….
I don’t know much about
Her, she was involved of killin
A guard….she was a black panther….

She was fightin for freedom
In the streets…did she have a
Weapon? She said black is beautiful
And our hair is supposed to be natural….

I love her Afro….that’s our crown
And we should be wearin lovely afros
Like that often…who cares what the white
Folks say, break their laws…don’t give a
Fuck about their fear….

And she show her true self, she loves her blackness
black girls looked up to her, and see this black girl magic…

Angela Davis….
It’s her birthday….
She was a leader
But somehow white supremacy tone deaf her
Like I feel she has changed a bit….

Is it cos she doesn’t want to die
Like other great leaders….
I could understand that part….
I guess her anger is in a private mode now….

Yet I don’t know…..
I just know she did the right thing for her people….
