A Purple Heart
A Purple Heart
That beats through wounds
Still bleeds through
A woman's hand as she carries it
Everywhere she goes...
This is her husband's
Purple Heart
He served his country
He fought battles
Watchin every soldier around him
Dies.....
Yet he survived through
Wars took ptsd home
With him though he told his wife
That he needs help from the trauma
So his wife understood his pain,
And mental illness,
She has helped
Him through therapy sessions
Got so many scars
And he knew he didn't wanna
Lay all his mess on her from the
Battlefield...
There are tough times
Bumpy roads
Crashin down
Though
His wife is there
Being supportive
She knew she loves him
She will take care of him
It's why she carries his Purple Heart
Everywhere tellin
The world her husband served his country
Even though the country didn't say thank you
Just a medal....
When your husband came home from war
And it's traumatizin
He tells you his mental health isn't right...
What do you do?
Well you help him you take him to
Therapy, you listen to him
You nurture him in anyway you can....
Cos your husband has changed...
He wasn't the same person before...
Yet his love for you still lingers his eyes...
He kept his promise to come home to you
Safe and sound....
His situations that came with him, his sweet silence
Apologizes to your brokenness, to your loneliness
He was gone for a long time...
Her expression was like it's not his fault,
She blame the country that drafted him away from her
She said "you're still my hero, sweetheart you did a good fight....
and I will carry your Purple Heart in mine with pride....
I'm proud of you."
His gaze smiles...
He said "this is why I love you so much...
This is why I came home to....
Thank you baby for carryin my Purple Heart."💜
