Interrupted

When black people gets interrupted
By white folks cos we talk about race,
I get annoyed, pissed like we ain’t allowed
To have feelings…we get told to hush, to
Gaslight us…when black people get interrupted by
Our own people who said we’re not victims
Tellin us there’s no such thing as racism
We get told skin color doesn’t matter
But it fuckin does…
We’ve been criticized for our melanin
Everyday, every night…
We have to live with that
All our lives
White people don’t….
And this is why we have to discuss racism everyday
Cos it’s there…
I’m not goin to be a coward
For not writin a poem about this topic
For black people…it’s an issue….
So miss me with the bull shit….
Y’all know racism exists
Y’all just don’t act like
It ain’t there…
