The biggest difference I see from the guys I grew up with/around, and trained special operators, ie (seals, delta, rangers, green beret, CIA, FBI, NSA) is training and access to advance weaponry. The brothers I looked up to beyond my older siblings, were academically superior (college grads), fearless, reserve, extremely fit, athletic, respectful, were never loud and boastful, and would beat your a$$, under their code of ethics, or rules of engagement. They didn’t fu*k with anybody without cause, and they didn’t get fu*ked with by anybody. RIP, Herb, Mike, Reggie, D’artangan, Lonnie, Big John, and Calvin.
