If you receive an accidental payment through Venmo, ignore it.

Scammers are sending citizens “accidental” payments through Venmo using stolen credit card information. They then ask you to send the payment back to them because it was a mistake. No, it wasn’t.

If you send them money, it will come straight from your bank account because once that credit card is reported stolen, that accidental payment won’t be there anymore.
