When a white person
Speaks up about how
Black people should uplift
Our own people, not tear each other
Down…
They agreed completely….
But when a black person says the same thing,
Well they agreed, but roll their eyes
And sometimes there’s a bad attitude….
There’s not a lot of praise…
Do you know why I said that?
Cos self hate is one of the most
Observation I picked on….
Self hate is what I’m seein through shattered glass…
Black people clapped more for a white person or any person of
Different race than our own people….
Like somebody who doesn’t look like us
Have to point out racism and our own flaws
When we’ve been sayin this for centuries
And nobody listened….
The truth went over our heads
All the time, the fact is that we don’t care…
We’re too distracted…we’re still dancin….
Let me ask a question?
How are we groovin while we’re at war?
We’re sick….deeply sick….mighty sick….
From all that trauma we have endured….
Our trauma keeps growin and growin like
An ugly plant….we named it slave mentality…..
I know it’s not an excuse however
Look at our own people
Givin more grace to white people and everyone else
Than us….
It’s Stockholm Syndrome we couldn’t erase
We can’t erase….
We rather hear the truth from a white man,
Than a people who looks like us….
Most of us don’t see it that way…
Most of us will continue to forgive a racist who
Killed us cos we think Jesus said so…..
To me
My people
Are the most heartbroken nation
I’ve ever known….
Still today,
We forever love a white man
Who beats us too death…..
It’s the truth….
I can’t be lyin
We placed more faith into a white person
More than any of us….
Cos we’re sick….
It’s why not all of us can’t fight back if necessary…..
Honestly
We keep white supremacy growin stronger and stronger
So we accept abuse….we keep puttin our profits into their
Capitalism….
It’s why marchin and beggin in the streets are not that serious
Anymore….
So when a white man or a white woman
Speaks up about our own community
We clapped more louder and louder
Than we clapped our own….
