A classic love poem
A classic love poem
I think I might have written one
But it's not Shakespeare one...
Might not be a sonnet...
It's old, and ancient
Way before cell phones
And tablets
You know...
You carve your soul on a rock...
You ink your heartbeat on a piece of paper....
And somehow you send it off...
Such a classic love poem
Slaves write poetics to each other secretly
Behind a white man's back
Cos by law at the time
We weren't allowed to write....
So we don't know anythin about love poems
But we know how we feel, how we feel when you saw
Your slave partner next door....
Can you write a classic love poem in
2024? Yes you can...
You can perform it on stage
You can make your audience feel
Cos you feel it in your gut...
Why not?
My romantic pieces are goin to be
Old timey years later....when I become an elder
Or pass away....people will read them and smile
Givin them hope that someone who is goin to love you,
Too...it's true...
Real love does exist,
Real love can open your eyes
And open your soul lettin your spirit soars in
The sky...clash into someone's space that keeps you safe...
To me, that's a classic love poem....🍭🧸❣️♾️🫶🏾©️ Kai C. 9-6-24
