Stigma

Black people
Has a stigma on ourselves
And it’s not good at all….
self hate
Has been around
For years and years….
It grew so ugly
Ever so ugly
Cos

Some don’t realize
It was self hate…
It’s internalized
Like we were taught to dislike
Ourselves so much at first hand….
It was taught from slavery by slaveowners
And other colonizers

That disrespect
And non-dignity
Stretch in our dna…
And stir all parts of trauma….

The stigma on
Us, on our inferiority….
We have our bones
Of generational curses
In our melaninated hands
With tears pourin
Inappropriate laughter
Burstin out

As we’re desensitized victims
Of white supremacy….
And you should never tell a
Black person to stop with the victimization
Knowin it’s thrown in our faces….
Way too much….

How do we get rid of the stigma?
Like it’s a bad reputation?
Cos let me tell you somethin

Racism does a lot of damage
On us…a lot..whether it’s loud
Or quiet…it hurts us in so many ways….
You can’t say
Black people
Need to stop being a victim
Of the oppression
Some will side eye you….

And you knew the stigma
You make it stronger
To weaken us on purpose…
I will say

Read
Research
Observe
Listen
Understand
Use your brain to think

Cos that stigma lingers
The black race for decades
Ever since the colonizer sets foot on
Indigenous lands….yet

The word stigma doesn’t exist
At those days but I know for a fact
They created it through their violence….

Now that’s somethin to ponder on…✊🏿💯©️ Kai C. 9-20-24
