I just learned that
Black people
Had to pay
Two dollars
To vote
And white people
Don’t
Back
In
The
Day….
1960s….

An elderly black woman
Came out of the van
And told this story in Mississippi…

It wasn’t so long ago…..

Now she could vote
For free….

Can you imagine?

Small history lesson
Was her experience
Livin through those days
Where black people
Had to fight for….

Did we come a long way?
Not really…
Cos we’re still fightin
For
Our humanness….

I’m happy
That
She gets to vote…
Even though
Vote is part of the system….
