Ode to white authors
Who stereotyped black people
In their pieces…get us out of your pen…
Get us out of your typewriter….
Don’t put us on paper
If you’re goin to dehumanize our souls….

Y’all know what y’all doin…
Don’t justify
Don’t be like I read my favorite black writers
Doesn’t mean shit…
When your black readers call out
On your bull shit…

Y’all give half ass apologies
Downplayin your pettiness towards black community
Callin us racists…..
Like it’s our fault that we made y’all write a line
Or so…..

Y’all did it on your own
By yourselves….
This is a direct, a major direct
Not an attack…..
Don’t give me your black friends
Or your blended family who defended your writings
They have no dignity to stand up to you….

And if you don’t like this poem
If you don’t like this ode,
I don’t care….
I said what I said
Just like y’all don’t give a damn about
Black people….y’all don’t wanna bother to
Witness their humanness….it’s one of the most
Disrespectful thing in the world….
Y’all see us as a fetish, as an object, and
Animals…. I observe those things, I learned….
And I always thought to myself as a writer
That racism will always be an interestin poem
To write, to read, to discuss, to understand
To use your brain for….

Ode to white authors,
Y’all do know there’s racism in the
Writin community, right?
I hope y’all are aware…
Even if y’all don’t see
Black books from beautiful black authors
Are banned from school….
Your books will not be banned….
Unless you speakin harsh facts….
Most of y’all i don’t see
Writin about your system
Your bestie racism
How it affects on nonwhite people…
I only see some who write
About your whiteness
Some of y’all admitted your
Fragile and guilt on a turnin page…..

If y’all stereotyped black folks
In your best selling books,
Black readers will call you out
Even your own people….
And y’all will deny, defendin
Yourselves…
