If you voted fo vice president trump or didn't vote at all, this is what you're getting. But don't worry, there's more to come ... enjoy it all 😄
For anyone who STILL doesn’t understand how tariffs work, read this:
An American company buys goods from another country. The American company pays for the goods, and the foreign country ships them to the U.S. At this point, the foreign country’s role in the transaction ends—the goods have been paid for, and they’ve been shipped.
Once the goods arrive at a U.S. port, tariffs must be paid before they can be released to the American company that purchased them. I cannot stress this enough: the American company, not the foreign seller, is responsible for paying these tariffs.
Now, because Trump is increasing tariffs, American companies are facing higher costs to get these goods released. The goods will not be released to the American company until the tariffs are paid. If the company wants the goods so they can sell them to us, the customers, they have no choice but to pay these tariffs.
To compensate for these increased costs, they will pass them on to us, the paying customers, by raising prices on the goods they sell. And if you think for one second that any American company will simply absorb these extra tariff costs instead of passing them on to consumers, think again.
