This is an 1860 slave schedule. You see his name as owner , his age, sex, and race . Look all the way down starting with him you see the letter B for black. M for mulatto.. they never gave a slave name. Rather you came on their so called boats are not. If you searched genealogy you will find a black box with a number. I have yet to find a name. Because you were enslaved didn't make you African. 98% of slavery were indigenous. I have indigenous slaves in my tree but only 2 names ..Creek indian
