Trump's administration is proposing to shut down several U.S. embassies-mainly in Africa-as part of a massive budget cut that could reshape America's global diplomatic presence. Countries potentially affected include Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Senegal, Zambia, Mozambique, and South Sudan.
The move follows a proposed 50% slash to the State Department and USAID budget, alongside plans to dissolve USAID and reduce foreign aid by 75%, sparking concerns over weakened diplomatic ties and regional instability.
