I honor that African immigrants exist, but that does not give anyone the right to demand African Americans to stand as shields, especially by aligning with brown communities that have shown us disrespect, even on our own African soil they mistreat us on a daily basis. It’s cruel and contradictory to expect African Americans to carry this burden while facing the same disregard from these groups. This so-called “solidarity” isn’t real unity, it’s a one-sided expectation that ignores painful history and lived realities.
