My ancestral lineage is traced back to Northern Sudan. I am rejuvenated in spirit to know my family's ancestors are direct descendants of Nubian heritage. From the diaspora via the trans-Saharan slave trade routes, during the European slave trade, my ancestral lineage was brought into Virginia, in the post-slavery, civil war, south, my people settled in Amelia County, Va.. My family mixed with Cherokee Indian, and my father's mother, my grandmother was a half-breed African-Cherokee. She was stunning, and didn't take ANY shit.
For me to understand my ancestral lineage, gives me a renewed since of pride and self-assurance. To top it off, I share the same birthdate as Nat Turner, October 2nd. Nothing else need be said...
