Redd Foxx, stage name of John Elroy Sanford, was an American actor and stand-up comedian who found mainstream success with his uncensored nightclub act. Known as the "King of the Party Records", Foxx recorded over 50 albums and is best known for his role as Fred G. Sanford. Foxx was a pioneer for Black comedians, paving the way for others with his racy material.
