Columbus didn't discover 💩and they NEVER mention Pedro Alonso Niño, an Afro-Spanish navigator and pilot, who sailed with Columbus on his first voyage in 1492 and played an important role in navigation or Juan Garrido, a free Black man from West Africa (likely born in present-day Senegal or nearby).
He traveled to the Americas with Spanish expeditions in the early 1500s (shortly after Columbus’s voyages).
He later became known for helping with the conquest of Mexico and for being one of the first people to grow wheat in the Americas.
