What you MUST also do is get insurance that will provide legal and bonding protection in the event you have to defend yourself! If you have to discharge your registered weapon, you will be processed in the system.
- If you can, do not leave the scene.
- If you are able, dial 911 and state there has been an incident and you are on scene rendering aid (do not admit to shooting anybody). When the police arrive, make certain you tell them you are armed, you will be asked to surrender your weapon. Make sure your EDC is not a high value weapon, that you may not recover.
