These Black students were enrolled into the prestigious Baltimore Polytechnic Institute 10 years before the Supreme Court ruling on Brown vs the Board of Education. Tomorrow, they are being inducted into the hall of fame for their academic achievements.

Our 2026 Hall of Fame inductees: Leonard Cephas '56, Clarence Daly '56, , Milton Cornish Jr. '56, Victor Dates '56, Odoch “Bucky” Hawkins '57, Linwood Jones '56, Edward Savage '57, Everett Sherman '57 and Silas Young '56 — the first Black students to attend Poly in 1952.
Long-time Poly volunteer, Howard “Toby” Henson, will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame for his 15 years of dedicated service to Poly and his lasting impact on our school community.
The event is currently at capacity, as we have prioritized the presence of our inductees and their families. We invite our alumni and community members to view this historic event via livestream at 100 AM EST.
