The famous underwater statues you are thinking of are located at the Grenada Underwater Sculpture Park in Molinere Bay, Grenada. Created by sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor in 2006, the most famous installation here is Vicissitudes—a circle of 26 life-sized children holding hands. While the artist originally created the statues to symbolize unity, resilience, and coral growth, many people interpret them as a haunting memorial to the millions of enslaved Africans who died or were thrown overboard during the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The site is part of the Grenada Underwater Sculpture Park, listed as one of National Geographic's Wonders of the World.
