Attended my college homecoming football game this weekend. As a freshman, I played in the school's first-ever bowl game in 1976. We lost 31-28 on a last second field goal. The team was being honored for the 50th anniversary of the bowl game.
When I arrived at the tailgate, I found out that 6 members on the starting offense had passed away. A 7th, was wheel chair bound, and a homeboy, had one leg amputated due to type 2 diabetes.😔 Needless to say, I was stunned at the degree of loss and illness. After the halftime ceremony, I quietly hung around for half of the 3rd quarter, said my goodbyes, then left. I ended up getting a drink, thankful to still be upright, in good health, and working.😌 Health is wealth! I got a big dose of that this weekend! #humbling.
