In the United States, political centrism serves as a Trojan horse for fascism. Democrats, as the left-wing of capitalism/imperialism, have already shown they're more than willing to enable fascism as long as they have a seat at the table... which, of course, they do. The neoliberal shift that took place in the 1970s/80s ensured this. Since then, corporate governance has been fully cemented as the country remains on a fast track from covert fascism to overt fascism. Despite the appearance of being oppositional, both capitalist political parties are instrumental in this transition.
