These sound like excuses to encourage the people to accept the "enhanced security" measures as a means of protection.

My response is pretty much the same, I'd like to see the data for the types of crimes comment and what specific areas have risen, who is committing the crimes, and also data concerning the effectiveness of the suggested "security" measures. Time and time again the data shows that increased policing does not work whereas education, opportunities, and Community Building exercises help to lower crime rates.

i told yall i would put my answer but first a quick story. During another lifetime i ran post offices. One office was adding 10 thousand deliveries which meant new people and more space. I was given a portable work space to hold 15 employees. I put 15 of the most notoriously negative nasty employees all in the building together. Keep that 15 away from the 60 hard working upwardly thinking employees. The 15 hated it, but the 61, the work atmosphere and customer service all got better. With that, i think its a shrude ass move but i dig it. I think most people commit crime when the dont have much to lose. If you making 60k and up a year with a mortgage and property tax you got plenty to lose. In my opinion, these gated communities going up is going to be more about putting 85% at ease and applying hella pressure on the 15%.
