Condition of forgiveness

Can you forgive a racist?
I wouldn’t
Even if I forgive myself
Even if I were a Christian and I’m not…
I wouldn’t…
Cos white supremacy is done on purpose…

White supremacy is an abused system…
White supremacy is demonized black people’s humanity
And other races that ain’t white….

With black people
We have this condition of forgiveness
That came from slavery….came from the colonization
Where we were beaten and whooped constantly
Only to forgive our oppressors…
It’s in our genes, in our dna….
Along with Christianity….

There’s no name for this diagnosis
But it’s been passed down for generations
And it’s really annoyin….
Black people go over the top forgivin
And givin compassion to white folks
Who has done them wrong…
We see it time and time again….

Forgiven hearts got so many bruises
Yet as a black race we don’t forgive ourselves….
Some do…
Others, it’s a different story….

Would you forgive an abuser?
Would you forgive a cheater?
Think about systematic racism…

As a cheater, as an abuser…

It might get you thinkin or not….

Again as I said
White supremacy speaks violence…
It’s no accident…
The system is meant to harm black people
And other nonwhite people….
