Don’t give me that black power bull shit
Cos black people ain’t tryin to hear that…
They ain’t tryin to hear those speeches
And racism…
They will say we made it, stop complainin
About the white man….
Stop, stop
Like they’re tellin you
You’re makin excuses
Sayin
You got a job
You pay the bills
Racism is over….
Let that subject alone
Move on with your life….
But what about a black man
Who got killed by cops?
Why Karen follows a black person
Around in the store?
Why is there a redlining?
And we can’t talk about
Racism, as if we can’t say its name….
That’s an issue…..
We don’t want speak about it….
It’s been push away
Push aside
Like tellin
Us to be quiet….
Don’t bring black power bull shit
To the table…
It feels like we don’t care,
It’s just that we don’t wanna listen
And it’s why we’re continuin to be
In the same spot…
We have no words
No action
Our comfort zone is systemic racial abuse…
We’re not doin anythin to fix it,
To get rid of our oppression
Cos
We’re extra comfortable….
That’s what it is…

I wrote this poem because I was listening to the discussion of black people feel good and the thing is
That they don’t wanna hear about the seriousness of our situations. They don’t wanna hear about the harsh reality we’re facing. We don’t wanna discuss about black power and racism. Most of them will say we’re good, now. Black people are so colorblind….
Full of ignorance….
