Don't trust pink people at all when it comes to business. Handshakes and verbal agreements mean nothing. Get everything in writing with a signature. If they refuse it means their out to fuck you.
Contracts are standard business practice if they refuse they never intended to do good business with you. They will get what they need out of you and when it comes time to settle up you'll be in an unemployment line mad.
