We owe it to our children to do right by them right beside them. Resistance and joy can coincide so as long as we value and protect the lives of our children. I have a role and a responsibility in the direct lives of 50+ kids in my neighborhood. I’ve lived here all of my life. We built this school in my neighborhood for a reason. This is about localizing our commitment to justice. Stopping Mr Softee truck from targeting our children in a community already vulnerable to health issues is a part of that movement. This is real life for The Black Opts, Hawk Newsome, New York Vonni and I and for so many, life or death so we’ll do anything imaginable to bend our resistance work to ushering more life into our communities. Really appreciate the parents and community members support and seeing the children aid their own health development.
