The Jiye people, residing in Southern Sudan, occupy a region slightly Westward from the Toposa community. Within this territory, they contend with the Toposa tribe for both grazing lands and marital relationships. Though smaller in number compared to the Toposa, the Jiye people evoke fear due to their remarkable prowess in combat. In adherence to their traditions, Jiye women attire themselves in leather garments and embellish their visages with intricate beadwork, predominantly featuring the color blue. Additionally, they wear earrings and exhibit scarifications on their bellies. Some women may also bear piercings above the upper lip and below the lower lip. Meanwhile, Jiye men showcase more extensive scarification patterns, signifying their social significance and status within the community.
