Let me tell you about an initiative we have in Britain called Black Pound Day; in response to George Floyd's murder, weve designated the first Saturday of EVERY month as BPD, it's a day that all are encouraged to buy from a black owned business.

BPD has now been a movement for the past 3 years and has built commendable momentum. Entrepreneurs host events on BPD, many offer opportunities to budding businesses, the founder of BPD (a local celebrity) now even has his own store with items from a variety of independent black owned businesses (thats me at work in the picture below).. thousands of black business owners benefited by a movement that began in tragedy.
