Wheelchair

My mama will find

Everybody in my family
Will have a search party….

But this scenario will
Never Happen
At all….

I won’t wander off
Somewhere
At night or day
Alone

Especially I’m black
I’m a woman
I have a disability

Where am I goin?

I won’t fake my disappearance
I won’t joke about kidnappin

Cos
People go missin
All the time…
And we keep lookin for any shadow
In sight….

My shadow is safe
I’m here breathin

It’s not funny
Danger is not
Laughin matter…
I don’t wanna go
Missin
And worry my loved ones too death

This is why
Conversations come up
Frequently
About stayin with
The group
And don’t talk to
Strangers…

Cos we don’t know
Of their good intentions….
