The biggest search for the Loch Ness Monster is set to get under way – and this time, it will be more high-tech than ever before.

Enthusiasts armed with drones, infrared cameras and hydrophones will descend on the Scottish loch later this month, in a bid to find the elusive Nessie – the creature which is rumoured to live in the waters.

A volunteer research team called Loch Ness Exploration and The Loch Ness Centre are organising the effort, which is thought to be the biggest single search since the Loch Ness Investigation Bureau studied the loch in 1972.

The bureau was set up in the 1960s to uncover the existence of a large beast in the waters. But, despite a number of apparent sightings over the years, no evidence of the creature has been found.
