For a writer
(Roald Dahl)
Yesterday I learned about you
And your stories
How you sat on that comfy chair
With your legs up
Have 5 pencils to write your children’s books
I would like to borrow your writin chair….
It’s big I could fall asleep….
I could use my iPad to write my poems
I mean they literally fall out of my soul….
For a writer like us
We do set up and be in a comfort zone
Just pourin out words and feelings
Like raindrops…
Writers are the greatest clouds in the universe
No matter how bad and good we are….
Yet I’m terrible at writin garbage poetry….
I don’t know how to write not so good poem,
Cos I got magic, I got a magic left hand
Those magical thumbs…. Do have mistakes….
Don’t forget writers are humans, too….
I would like to borrow your chair, sir…
Just for a while,
I can get comfortable, too…
Not goin to steal it…
I’m goin to borrow your chair, Mr. Dahl
You can sit on my daybed and write
But I don’t have pencils like yours….
I don’t know if you know how to use
An iPad…this is 2023 it’s technology
Everywhere…the world has changed….
I can go back in time
Where I can get those pages right
And use a pencil to scribble my heart out….
We can switch places
Through Time Machine
Only for once….
Honestly,
I really like your chair….
You look too comfortable….
There’s nothin wrong with
Havin your own space to write….
