Joe Biden's absence and apparent lack of empathy towards the residents of Maui serve as a stark indication of his seeming indifference to Americans in need.
During a recent CNN interview, a long-standing Maui resident became visibly emotional when questioned about why Biden has been slow to visit the wildfire-ravaged area and offer support to those affected.
Ella Sable Tacderan, a Maui resident, expressed her deep concern, saying, "It's really affecting me because where is the President? I mean, aren't we Americans too? We're a part of the United States. Why are we being relegated to the background? Why are we being overlooked?"
Criticism has mounted as Biden has yet to set foot on the Hawaiian island, particularly as the death toll continues to rise.
Earlier this week, a reporter inquired if the president had any comments on the situation, to which he responded with a terse "no comment."
