The chief of the Wagner paramilitary group is apparently dead following a plane crash in which nine other people were on board. According to a member of the group, it was shot down by Russian military aerial defense systems.

Wagner’s chief was a dead man walking ever since he started his coup. But the question, I think, still remains. Could this be a cover-up?

Wagner’s chief is not stupid. He led an army that clearly rivaled Putin’s own. His coup had a good shot at being successful, but he called it off following negotiation.

He obviously must have known that Putin would not let him live going forward. Any person with even a semblance of sense would know that. There was no chance that Putin was going to let him live and still maintain control of his private army following the attempted coup.

Right now, we have a man who knew his end was near who was reportedly killed in an attack in the air, which would invariably leave his body unidentifiable. It’s almost too convenient.

But hey, maybe I’m wrong. Who knows? We sure won’t, because we can’t trust the word of Russia.
