At the closing and last day of August 2023 in commemoration of Black August and all the revolutionary liberation and freedom fighters.
21st of August 1791 was the beginning/start of the Haitian Revolutionary War (ended in the year 1804). The independent empire of Haiti was established in victory of that war against their French colonizers government that expelled French presence remains in eastern Hispaniola resulting from their massacre and defeat of the French. The war lasted 12 years, 4 months, 1 week and 4 days.
