When I was a teenager
Or younger
I used to read teen romance
Novels and they make me want a
Boyfriend and go on dates...they're like
Hollywood films
But they're all in my head...
I just wanted a guy to love
And be in a relationship with...
You know roses and candy
Holdin hands love letters
All that jazz...

At the time
I didn't have a boyfriend
I didn't have a serious one...
Thought I did
But it wasn't roses and teddy bears
It was more like a crush being crushed

I guess I wanted a teen romance
Novel relationship with someone
Who feels the same way as I do...
It doesn't exist in the real world....
So it was nice to have those
Romantic thoughts and gettin
All this mushy...

It's also nice to have these
Funny flashbacks to go through
And just chuckle seein my younger
Self sigh wantin a boyfriend
Who can make her blush....
There's nothin wrong with that

At the age
Young ladies
They wanna date
They want a boyfriend
They wanna experience first love, first kiss
First crush...
I remember those days....

As I got older,
My hopeful romantic became evolved
More passionate, more sensual
I haven't been readin romances
Recently
But I've been watchin
Beautiful movies about love
Love between a man and a woman....

Still makes me wanna fall in love forever....
