I don’t hate you cos the color of your skin…
I don’t hate you cos the color of your skin…
I hate the system that has to do with skin color…
And it’s not fair….
If we truly want justice and equality, get rid of the
White supremacy…get it off the planet….
Why do you think melaninated people cry so much?
Why do you think the system still confuses them?
Why do I write poems about these topics only to educate
People, to school them? Even if they ain’t readers? Even if
They’re not poem lovers? People question things a lot
Like there’s this popular question what’s happenin?
Askin why? And why do black people think this way?
A way of not being normal? Cos we’ve been brainwashed
And conditioned.. the only reason I write black poetry is to help
Black people…not cos I hate white folks…not cos I hate other races….
I don’t have a book of black poems….I have small amount of racial experiences
On my own but I have observed, I listen, I read…and the poems
Keep flyin like birds in my head…I know some are scared of me cos I tell the truth…
Some ignore what I say…nobody wants to hear a piece about racism white supremacy…
Some might think this isn’t my fight cos I don’t have a lot of experiences….
Some might say I should write about ableism and that’s it, right?
Well black people with disabilities deal with racism as well…
I’m a voice for them, too….
To say I hate you cos of your skin color,
No, I don’t hate you….
I hate the fact you made an assumption that I’m a racist
Cos I write these black poems and post them online
Which is to say your guilt is out of the box,
Your white fragility came out of the closet
I triggered you with my words
Without an apology….
My soul has love and empathy for black people….that’s my race…
We’re truly sick psychologically sick from slavery from colonialism….
And there’s always a pattern of abuse that keeps trauma in our bones….
All I wanna do is to write poems for them as a healin process
Even though they don’t wanna read…
Even though it’s not the way to fight the white supremacy….
It’s my way of sayin I love my people….black people….people who look like me
Dark skin, light skin…. I don’t mind writin these poems only to understand
Only to get them to talk about it….we’re at a battleground of
A chess…the black side…i just wish they could wake up
And see this…I wish we could gain more self respect for ourselves….
To love ourselves….
You expect me to be racist
Cos I wrote a poem about skin color….
There’s power in words but not in action….
Since you don’t understand it
Let me break it down for ya
Racism is a system
Simple as that…
Racism is power
To control nonwhite people across the planet….
It’s everywhere around the world….
My poetry don’t build a system like that
You got yourself confused….
I’m not a hater
I’m not a hate speech
You just don’t like facts…
So you choose feelings over the truth
And yes I got banned from social media
Cos I said what I said
Without givin a fuck…
Without sayin I’m sorry….
If you think I hate your skin color,
Then why are you readin it?
Oh cos
You tryin to keep me in my place
Like a good ol negro I should be…
No
I will have to block you….
If you say that to me in person,
I’d just turn the other cheek
Roll my eyes
Ignore you….
I’m goin to write what I’m goin write
I’m goin to write the truth
Even my grammar is shitty…
I know what I’m talkin about
I write black poems on purpose…
Not accident….
If you ban my black poems
I’ll keep writin them and writin them and writin them til my last breath….
Keep postin them and postin them til I can’t post anymore…
So i don’t care..
White supremacy isn’t a mistake
So is my black poetry
I’m aware of my words from my heart is not a weapon
To erase all the injustices…
But it gives people an attention
It gives my black readers an attention…
So do I hate you cos the color of your skin?
Do I?
I don’t….
I don’t hate you at all….
You expect me to be another different kind of poet
Who doesn’t write about racism
You expect me to write somethin like a coon poem
Or somethin….
Black poets do write about racism
Cos they experience it
They’re victims of it
And you can’t handle it
Then don’t read it
Don’t make them apologize
When they pen their truth….
They don’t have to be sorry
I don’t have to be sorry either….
