The mainstream version of Tiamat is from the Mesopotamian religion, which is modern day Iraq (all dots connect).

In ancient Greek, Tiamat is a primordial goddess of the sea, mating with Abzû, the God of the groundwater, to produce younger Gods. She is the symbol of the chaos of primordial creation. She is referred to as a woman & described as ‘the glistening one’ —peacefully creating the cosmos through successive generations.

In Sumerian Cosmic text, Tiamat (the Goddess) embodied a planet, also known as Phaeton — that once existed between Mars & Jupiter. Nibiru, a large celestial planet body associated with the God Marduk, sometimes referred to as Jupiter, collided with Tiamat, destroying it which resulted in formation of the asteroid belt, the solar system family of planets & forming planet Earth & the Moon.
