The genus name for the Rose Of Sharon plant is called "Narcissus". The flower itself follows the people. I see this flower EVERYWHERE and have several pictures of it being in places I went and spotted it. My great grandmother's name on my dad's side of the family name was "Narcissus". We called her "Momma Sis". I learned about this flower about two years ago, and realized it grew right in the backyard of the residence where I had been living for a few years. I was SO amazed!☺️
There was also a war called "The Battle of The Roses"....
