Cos we’re afraid to speak up
We would run
And hide from what was right…
We only speak for the white man
In this same air
We complain about him…
Which one is it?
It’s not all of us
Are a church mouse
Some will fight back
Some will get a revenge
They’re not goin to be a
Church mouse…
It’s not their choice…
These are the role models
Who are out loud about
What’s goin on…the ones
Who calls out the issues
The struggles of white supremacy
And black community….

We surely drop names of
Church mouses in major
Corporations….church mouses don’t
Speak up about abuse
They fear if they tell,
They will lose acceptance
They will get punish…
And to me I see this is control…
They stay quiet…
Especially what’s happenin
When the truth spills out in the open
They still be quiet…
Silence has won all integrity
It’s not a good thing…

Church mouse
Will not do the right thing
For their own people
They will promise the people
Who keeps abusin them
Stockholm Syndrome is there
It lives among them
And oh how I wish it doesn’t exist

Any type of situation
Can be dangerous
Dependin on what it is…

Church mouse
Worries about money lifestyle
Stayin out of where they came from
Thinkin they’re better
When they’re not church mouses,
They’re all talked
Talkin down to the people who looks like
Them…it’s really disgustin…
Cos they still got disrespect for themselves…

when it comes to the oppressors
They become hush hush
Again church mouse…
Especially when it comes to the topics of religion or
Racism they be extra quiet sometimes
Some tell us to be quiet….

Fear is a part of our trauma
Which sustains in our dna….
It comes from slavery
It’s another form of slave mentality
Back then ancestors felt like they had to
Stay close to the slave masters cos
Of there are so many abuses happenin
On the plantation and in the white families
Households…though others left their fields
Like fuck it I can’t deal….

It’s why being silent condition has passed down
To lots of black families the way they act the way
Their lips are not movin…keep secrets of wrongdoings
for white People and even in their own relatives
It’s really sad…

I’m goin to call it a church mouse syndrome…
I’m not a psychiatrist, or anythin like that
I feel this is observation when I hear stories
Like these…can you fix it?
It’s possible but I don’t know how…

For not callin it out
