Generational curse
Needs to break,
Like glass….
It shouldn’t have a
Repetitive trauma….
Cos

It gets worse
And worse
And worse
But

There’s a person
In someone’s family
Could break it into
Million ways
That’s a hard thing to do….

I know for black families
They have so much generational curses
From the enslavement…the sad thing we don’t
Speak about it…we don’t wanna talk
About our fucked up mental health
As a community…a myth that went around
Goin to therapy is for white people….

Black people can get help, too
As a black race
We do have an illness
From all the abuse of slavery which
It carries on in our DNA….
Not everyone knew that….

Yes it’s in the past
But past keeps poppin up
In the present
Like a family member is actin
As a slave master…I know it’s offensive

Though it’s the truth…

Generational curse
Is a repeatin cycle
And there are people who don’t
Wanna crush it cos they feel
Forever comfortable…that’s a sad part

There are people who don’t wanna live
Like that,
At all…
So they find ways to stay away
From the ugliness in the family
gatherings….

Doin certain things that gives us ache
And shame is not a good thing….
Especially to a child…
Cos the kid will grow up erasin the trauma
Completely for the rest of his life
Or pass it on….it’s the memory that haunts
Like an angry demon….

It’s always good to break
Generational curse
So nobody passes down to your children…
You get help
You can make a decision not goin to family functions
You can write or draw
You can cry and laugh…
Honestly I’m not sure how to break a cycle
People have their own ways
And for the black nation
It’s ok to go to therapy
It’s ok to find ways to heal ourselves
It’s ok to discuss our mental health….
Especially in the family
We need to talk about our sick minds
Why do we act the way we act?
Why does the Stockholm Syndrome exist?
Yet

Do we really wanna open up to each other
As a black race? Black woman, black man?
No colonizers involvement…no white people
No Chinese no Arabs…just us…
We don’t need other races to be in our conversations…
It’s about us…honestly
We need to start being selfish…
That’s another issue….we keep fallin apart while
Lovin people who don’t look like us..
That’s another curse, too…

Generational curse
It needs to break for
Real…need to be shattered….
