A healthy relationship
Would I ever be in a
Healthy relationship with
Someone who loves me, too?
Would I ever be?
There’s this guy who lives so far
Away from me….
He said he has the urge to come by
Though I got daydreams of that he would….
I dream about real love all the time…
He said he’s willin to be with me…
Why can he come now?
Why can he run off home to my heart?
And I could be his safe place…
The lucky women made themselves a cozy
Secure place where their men who truly cares…
Sharin butterflies, walkin on edge and I’m sittin
Here in a long distance relationship where we’re
Crossed towns and we talk about everythin….
There’s hope, there’s never givin up, right?
I just wanna love someone….
I just wanna be in a real life love story
Where redamancy is in our vocabulary….
We don’t say it we show it…
I’m watchin the lucky women who spilled tea
And me feelin lonely cos my doubts was like
He’s not comin to get me….only in my daydreams..
It makes me sad, the men who drop everythin to
Be with their women, me and my dreams…
Me and the far away guy..maybe circumstances are in the way
I want a healthy relationship
Where we can see each other
With our lovin eyes and warm souls
Tangle up as one…..

A response to that mix race poet on the mic
Who said one quarter coon and 3 somethin master
I’m so damn confused….
I don’t get it….
You callin yourself a coon….
Yet do you know what a coon is?
In fact not all black people are coons
And you’re white passin….
I’m so confused,
You could of say
African empress or melaninated royalty…
But you said coon…
I’m a poetess and I should suggest you
Get another choice of words….
Do you hate blackness?
You see the thing is
Some black people don’t see
Your blackness, yet others do
You tellin us that you don’t fit in
And white people said you can’t fit in…
You have to sit at a table with the mix race
People with identity crisis…
I don’t think all black people push you away
But you kinda make us look bad in your poem….
Let me remind you, no matter where you go
With your white passin, systemic racism will always see
You black…. I think you should read more,
I think you should start thinkin critically….
And your black parent should have teach you the real truth…
The difference is that your white passin gives you white privilege,
Gives you more opportunities, the fact is you’re light skin trophy..
But still you do that African features….you need to learn more
About your black history…
Your spoken word is confusin, and it’s kind of ignorance…
It seems like you hate your black side or somethin…
And honestly you could of said slave or somethin…
This situation reminds me of that movie where a biracial daughter
Hates her black mama….but that’s just me….
