Slave marriages
I ain’t allow to marry a man
Who has my heart…
I had to ask my massa if I could
Marry him…
He’s on another plantation…
Would massa let me marry?
I actually wanna stay away From
My massa…he keeps rapin me
And make me have those children
For work in the fields and in the house….
He wouldn’t go for it…
Every night the love of my life

He sneaks in and rest beside
Me talkin about runnin away
To get married and be free…
We hate our slaveowners…..
We both live like this
Such cruelty such tears
But we run to a hideaway place
For our secret romance…
Our black love is the toughest
Though we got faith and strength
To get by….
We don’t wanna marry other slaves…
We wanna marry each other…
Don’t have rings and rights
Yet we just got a plan to run
Away followin every North Star….

And he’s a slave and I’m a slave woman
We ain’t allowed to fall in love with
Each other…it’s against master’s will…
Durin that time, a black slave couple
Had to compromise with an enslaver
Which is sad…
You can’t marry
You can’t even love
White supremacy have sabotaged black love
Black families for years….
Imagine that time
We didn’t know what love really means at the time…
Black woman and black man
Has somethin real to each other….
And they ain’t allowed together
Til you ask a slaveowner
The fact you have to sneak in
Just to see each other’s smile….
It’s why black love is worth fightin for…
It’s still worth fightin for…
It’s for our survival…it’s for black people to stay together…
Black love is also black power….

Beloved, many have launched initiatives, but it's really about finding your tribe. Some want to dissappear, others to become contributors (everything from biochemists to humble farmers), some focused on accumulating wealth, some focused on off grid living, some pursuing the higest levels of spiritual enlightenment, and then there are those who are all "kill whitey" 🤣🤣 ... but seriously fundamentally we all desire peace. It is our very nature.
My focus right now is on developing the community that I'm in. It is in desperate need of triage in the literal sense. Prioritized organization, structure, and management in response to disaster. It is a county that is almost 50% Black with little to no equity ravaged by a slave mentality.

Last year he passed on 50 acres in the south. They're being patient growing the community, and looking for the right fit.
