Summed Up!!!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

White folks be lovin
This quote
“where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
They love usin that quote to gaslight us
When we bring up race….
Like Martin fixed the problem
No he didn’t….
He said let’s get our check…
He also said he led his people to the burnin buildin….
Hear me out ok?
When we integrate, we left our own towns behind…
We went to white schools
We went to white neighborhoods
We wanted to be treated fairly and equally…
And I heard that integration was another reverse psychology…
I also heard that Martin wanted to bring weapons
But he was told to be nonviolent….
Ok, what about Bloody Sunday
What about during the march
People got beaten
Got bitten by dogs
Got water hoses
Yet he was told to be nonviolent
To be peaceful
Down the bridge, In the streets to
Washington DC….
Last week it was his birthday
We had a day off
And people just talkin shit
About this man…
Spreadin rumors
Disrespectin him
Sayin he slept with a white woman
FBI said that
Constantly
Black people believe that
Instead of honor what he has done
For the black community….
Yes he made mistakes
He’s not perfect
The thing is,
It’s really difficult to be
A black leader…
To be an activist for
Your own people….
Dealin with all the stress
Martin had to make that sacrifice…
He fought
He fought
He fought
And Coretta was on his side
For better and for worse….
I respect Martin
I respect him for what he was tryin to do….
