You wanna marry the love of your life
On a plantation…a place of rape and murder
Of black bodies….a graveyard without names
That slaveowners created…. I hope you’ll get divorced
Soon, yes I said it…. I meant it….
I won’t take it back….cos you plan a weddin on that land
Where the abuse once lived….where the our blood forever dripped…
You get a gorgeous event to represent love, a love story between the groom
And bride goin viral but you’ve seen shadows of slaves pickin cotton and
Sugarcane….am I correct?
It’s an insult, a slap on the face just to get us to forget
That history…. I guess you want it to repeat…you still desire
For black people to be your slaves again….you make those romantic
Weddings to erase all American terror with that expression says,
“I’m not racist.”
It’s no excuse, and some black people are ok with plantation weddings
They’re like get over it…
Are they ok with their ancestors’ hair cut off and put them in their masters’ furnitures?
Are they ok with the lynchings next to the manison?
I mean come on….
