Saturday night readin

Yes I read a book
And I’m doin my best to understand
May not know everythin
But I know somethin, a little somethin
Tryin to expand my vocabulary
I read on my own…

I went back to my book,
I haven’t read it in a while,
It was called They Were Her property…
It’s about white women ownin slaves
A Difficult page turner….
I’m not sure where I’m at
Cos I haven’t read it for a long time….

I need to read more
I need to have more books to gain
Overweight of knowledge….
Cos I wanna learn
I wanna overstand what the fuck is goin on..

More readin
Then i write more and more
To tell the world this uncomfortable truth…

And everyone is uncomfortable
With certain books that makes them
Walk away..

I think readin should exercise your
Brain, especially for writers
They have to read so they could be
Inspire and look up words…
Books are supposed to erase the ignorance off
People’s minds and hearts…
It’s not all of them…

You should encourage yourself to read
I’ve been encouraging myself to pick a book
Or google pdf book, it’s okay for creativity to
Take a break..sometimes you gotta stop doin a little
Routine and read another chapter…

To tell you the truth, I’m more of a poetess
Than a reader…guess readin my poems are exceptional,
Right? Cos I truly write a lot more than I read….
That’s ok…though i still need to read more….

There’s nothin wrong with readin
Nothin wrong with books
Nothin wrong with the library….
Sometimes you need to educate yourself
Especially when you ask questions
About today’s society..

So I had a Saturday night readin…
It was nice
I laid on the bed just readin away…
